Yoh... the SABC's money troubles are exhausting. They really know how to make their financial mismanagement everyone else's burden.
After a week of chaos behind-the-scenes at Muvhango, TVSA can confirm that the cast and crew have been paid what was owed to them and cameras will roll again from this coming Monday (9 December 2019).
Both the SABC's spokesperson Mmoni Seapolelo and Muvhango publicist Karabo Disetlhe-Mtshayelo have confirmed to us that payments have been made after the production went on strike on Friday (29 November 2019).
If you missed the memo: the production downed tools because they were owed two months' worth of salaries which weren't paid on time.
The process of payment dragged out for dayzzzz with the SABC claiming they weren't responsible for the delay so it seems the production house Word of Mouth Pictures dragged their heels in processing the money but today the cash is everyone's bank accounts and the behind-the-scenes crew went into studio to prepare to shoot on Monday.
The SABC also tells us that the contract for the new season has been signed so we'll hopefully avoid another
life wasting Generations saga for our new year.
Muvhango's new season starts on Friday, 3 January 2020.
