On-set, behind-the-scenes in 2018.
Yes pips... we knew it would happen and it has.
Rapulana Seiphemo's long-standing legacy on Generations will definitely come to an end because of his
new role on The Queen.
SABC1 and Generations have confirmed his exit to TVSA, telling us that he'll be on screen until October.
Three months after he debuts on The Queen where he's signed-up to play Hector Sebata, a high ranking law enforcer with a radar for drugs and father to Jessica Nkosi's character Thando.
Of course this isn't the first time that Raps has catapulted between soapies. His history with Gen includes a starring role on Muvhango as Pheko and a loud return to help save Generations when the Generations 16 mutiny forced it to shut down and return as The Legacy in 2014.
Something Gen creator Mfundi Vundla acknowledges. This is what he has to say about his exit:
Mfundi: "Rapulana played a central role in the transition of the series, Generations to its calibrated sequel, Generations: The Legacy. I thank him for his professional dedication to the acting craft."
And this from Raps:
Rapulana: "Mfundi Vundla and I go back to when I was still studying this craft. He blessed me then with scholastic support and went on to give me a place where I can nurture my talent and thrive.”
So what can we expect from his exit?
"I see dead people".
It's amazing how convenient ghosts are when it comes to soapieville troubleshooting.
This Monday (1 June) Letoya Makhene returns as Tau’s sister Tshidi.
Yes, Letoya who made such a huge fuss about leaving the show is now back.
Turns out Tshidi faked her death to protect her unborn baby from his evil father Jack (Vusi Kunene), who's future on the show is looking dodgy too considering the fact that he's become
buddy-buddy with Gomora.
Tshidi's been in hiding instead of a grave and returns with a devious plan to finally gain the power she’s always longed for.
And Tau's exit storyline is wrapped up in her comeback.
Should he die or be killed? Should he escape on a jet? Should he run off with a Russian bride from the internet? How should he go?
