Season 15 winner Luyolo Yiba, who won in dated curtains.
Urgent must-have for Season 16: a new wardrobe person. Long overdue.
Nope. Coronavirus hasn't saved us from another bout of deluded wannabes wanting a shot at fame.
TVSA can confirm that Season 16 is on track to air this year and is currently in production.
Masks and all.
According to Nomsa Philiso, M-Net's Director for Local Entertainment Channels: "The production company (SIC Entertainment) has been adhering to all the government lockdown guidelines and regulations whilst recording post the mass auditions."
The filming of the initial auditions in different cities happened before Lockdown so it's the rest of the show that still has to be filmed.
There's no word on what will happen with the live shows yet - we assume they'll wait to see what happens with lockdown rules and will film them "behind closed doors" without an audience should they need to.
Which will surely happen. We don't see mass audiences being allowed until next year.
So that's up in the air and so is the premiere date, which hasn't been confirmed yet. Could be they're aiming for the season to end just before Christmas so the winner can release a relevant Festive Season single and actually make some money for once!
