One day he's in as Gadaffi, the next he's out, then he's back and now he's gone.
Vuyo Dabula's been leaving Generations since 2015 already and it's been a long six years of trying to work out whether he's actually still on the show or not because nobody ever knows.
Until now.
TVSA member Zwejabuja asked us:
We can confirm that yes, he has left the show.
Or rather, "he's taking a break", as spilt by TVSA member
deziclethagawd back
in October last year.
We asked Generations publicist Nandipha Pantsi what's going on with him and she told us:
"Yes, Vuyo will be taking a break from Generations: The Legacy
. Gadaffi’s thrilling final episodes will air in March."
Final episodes.
This clearly means there are no plans for him to make another comeback in the close future.
As for why he's hitching a lift out of Gen... it's a closely guarded taboo that no-one wants to talk about. We asked Vuyo too but he was as silent as a stopped watch.
It's become the forbidden fruit of the entertainment industry to discuss such matters. The evil apple no-one will bite into.
The reason actors are written out of shows are now seldom disclosed by productions or the actors. It's as if they're afraid it's going to cast someone somewhere in a bad light for some unexplained, non-existent reason.
With Vuyo, the general gist has been that he's leaving to pursue other opportunities. Queen Sono was supposed to be amongst them, but Season 2 has been cancelled. Also, it wasn't a legit enough reason because he filmed Season 1 when he was on Gen.
There have also been rumours that he's leaving for Uzalo, which the production rubbished last year.
We highly doubt they've changed their minds because it isn't a good idea to headline a star from your No. 1 rival show.
What it all comes down to is that we can only assume that Vuyo's leaving Gen to spend more time in the gym.
