The One
Channel: Netflix South Africa
TX Time: 10h00 (all episodes)
Genre: Drama
Love — and lies — spiral when a DNA researcher helps discover a way to find the perfect partner, and creates a bold new matchmaking service.
Based on a book by John Marrs, this relationship drama tackles a unique premise: What if we could find our perfect partner through DNA matching?
The One is set five minutes in the future, in a world where a DNA test can find your perfect partner – the one person you're genetically predisposed to fall passionately in love with.
No matter how good your relationship, which one of us can honestly say we haven't thought about whether there is someone better out there?
What if a hair sample is all it takes to find them? The idea is simple, but the implications are explosive.
We will never think of love and relationships in the same way again.
Point of Order 2
Channel: SABC2
TX Time: 19h30
Genre: Game Show, Comedy
When parliament becomes comedy, this show turns comedy into parliament.
Point of Order is an original, weekly panel show hosted by Madam Speaker Tumi Morake.
This is where top comedians pretend they're politicians and show off their knowledge of national and world affairs – or lack thereof.
Point of Order is a TV show set in a mock parliament where local comedians become "Government" and "Opposition" and face off against each other in a series of rounds, each designed to test the knowledge, wit and quick thinking ability.
Presiding over it all is Madam Speaker, gavel in hand, ready to keep order, and possibly even recognise people.
The show allows for SA's top comedians to introduce important and vital new laws, like there must be a compulsory quota of 90% local content when singing in the shower..
It also gives special guests a chance to talk... well politics, almost like real MPs do – perhaps only a little more intelligibly.
This isn't fast paced stand up; this is a more off the cuff atmosphere as the comedians don't know what's coming next.
