Who deserves a Lifetime Achievement SAFTA and which new filmmaker made their mark this past year?
The National Film and Video Foundation has put out a call to the TV and film industry to nominate contenders for these and three other discretionary awards for the 15th South African Film and Television Awards.
The categories are:
Lifetime Achiever Award
This award is presented to an experienced individual with an extensive and outstanding contribution to the South African film and television industry, both locally and internationally.
Youth Achiever Award
This award is presented to a young individual who has demonstrated excellence in their craft. Recipients of this award must be below the age of 35 years.
Outstanding Person with Disability Contributor Award
This award is awarded to a person with a disability who has achieved excellence in the film and television industry.
Outstanding Provincial Contributor Award
This award is awarded to an outstanding individual, group or a particular initiative that has contributed significantly towards developing the film and television industry in a respective province.
Emerging Filmmaker Award
This award is awarded to a “newcomer” in the film and television industry who is creating or producing brilliant work.

They must include a profile of the person being nominated and a copy of their CV.
