The search is on for South Africa's next millionaire in kykNET's Afrikaans rendition of the famous game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
As you may or may not remember, M-Net did an English version of it in the early 2000s.
This time it's titled Wie word ‘n miljoenêr? and it premieres later this year.
If you'd like to enter, this is what you need to know:
Who can enter?
1. You must be a South African citizen, 18 years or older.
2. You need to be able to speak Afrikaans.
Who is the show looking for?
Quiz junkies.
People with a good general knowledge.
Those who want to take a risk and enjoy being out of their comfort zone.
The prize
R1,000,000.
The format
If you aren't familiar with it, this is it:
In the first round, contestants compete to play the main game by being the quickest in the Fastest Finger round where they must put four options in the correct order as quickly as possible.
The winning contestant enters the main game, where they have to answer increasingly difficult general knowledge questions.
Each question is presented with four possible answers and the contestant must choose the correct one.
If they're correct, they win a certain amount of money, with the overall money tally increasing as they answer more questions correctly.
Each player is given three lifelines which they can use during the game: Ask The Audience, 50:50 and Phone A Friend.
The aim: to answer all of them for the R1,000,000 grand prize.
