Oh, you want the truth do you?
What an episode! It was one big truth bomb, with explosive consequences that left me shocked and then delighted.
For starters the power alliance is history and Wardah's gone - yaydom! Feels a lot
like how I felt when
the mean girls were ousted because Wardah was a total mean girl too.
I was seething at the start of the episode when she went on about how "bad" she felt for voting out Anesu, saying Anesu would see it as "Me outplaying her,".
It was a lousy low blow that had nothing to do with friendship and everything to do with a competitive put down. We know they know each other from yoga but clearly that's It when it comes to their relationship.
Wardah and Tyson's reaction to Chappies at Tribal Council was much worse though. Last week I bemoaned the fact that Tribal Council was one big lie-fest and this week I got the truth I'd asked for, with a whole lot more than I'd bargained for.
They were so mean to Chappies I was freaking because it turned into bullying as they got more and more aggresive.
Yes, it must be frustrating when someone steals stock for themselves but there's NO ways it warrants that kind of nasty ganging up against them.
Also, it's not the first time someone's stolen supplies on Survivor - it's to be expected and they should have been better prepared for it.
And it's hardly like they're innocents - they stooped so low as to go through his belongings.
Their reaction made them come across as bitter tattle tales, and I'm convinced both the jury and Kiran thought so too.
Kiran morphed into a wide eyed statue, hardly moving a muscle throughout, clearly aware of how bad they were looking, while The Dude lucked out again by getting the hell out dodge.
Once more Anela didn't need to do nudda. He was just sitting there and next thing he was chosen to leave Tribal Council for the safety of immunity and solitude.
The Dude abides.
Going once, going twice, sold!
And now his girlfriend Nicole's catching his vibes by doing very little and winning everything her heart desires. She bought the best reward of the season by far at the auction, which had its pros and cons.
Things I liked
>> The number of auction items, which were plentiful. There are often too few items so you're just getting into it and it stops, but there was a satisfying number of rounds, and a good selection of stuff to buy.
>> Nicole's reaction to her ever growing haul was quite funny. She's become different from how she was when she was mean-girling-it with Marisha. Highlights the impact of influence.
>> The fact that the moolah was called Nicos. I actually had this under "Things I didn't like" for being too corny but then decided it was okay.
Things I didn't like
>> That toy gavel Nico used. It delivered a tiny, joke of a sound instead of creating a sense of the dramatic and important.
>> The letters from home that some of them bought meant nothing to us, because we weren't told who they were from and had no perspective on them. Letters are very important for us to understand the castaways more but they didn't shed light on them at all.
Kiran vs Chappies
I've been thinking... it's going to be a tough call for the jury to make if these two make it to the end.
Those with grudges *
side-eye Wardah* will obviously vote for Kiran but if I was on the jury, I would be conflicted.
They've ticked all the boxes when it comes to their physical, strategic and social game and each has remained endearing in their own way.
