Eventually we have lift-off on what's happening for the rest of Idols 17 now that Somizi's
just Somgaga that we used to know.
Guest judges will take his spot when the live shows start this Sunday (29 August), at 17h00 instead of 17h30.
A decision by Mzansi Magic that doesn't draw any lines or make any bold statements.
If they'd elected to go with one new permanent judge it would say that Somizi's never coming back because as we know, once a judge hits that chair permanently, they're stuck to it like chewing gum to a shoe.
No, this way it's safe for them from all angles. They don't have to commit, Somizi won't freak out and the socialz won't erupt with rage on who they've chosen.
Could be that they're seeing the set-up as one, big audition for a panel shake-up in Season 18. Maybe they'll give it a complete overhaul with a whole new crowd of judges.
