KwaZulu-Natal's Film Commission is on a mission, doing what other provinces need to do.
They're encouraging productions to film in KZN and they've been involved with the filming of two special TV events that air this week: The River's "Lost in Durbs" storyline on 1Magic and BET's seven film slate titled 7 Deadly Sins.
It's an anthology series of short movies that starts on BET on Friday 8 October at 21h30 and each film was created by a KZN-based production house.
You'll find details of the fliks in TVSA's
New on TV Today section on Friday.
Both projects were filmed in association with the Commission meaning that they contributed to the production needs of each show e.g. they assist with location scouting, they help in securing the locations and they source and ensure that KZN cast and crew are used.
The River's storyline has been unfolding since last week with the Mokoenas on a roadtrip. They were supposed to go to Pietermaritzburg to visit Paulina’s (Tango Ncetezo) home for an unveiling but skipped right past, driving straight to Durban, because they believed that every place in KZN is in the Durban city centre.
This led to various misadventures - including a stick-up with the law - which eventually landed them at the unveiling.
