It's almost time for Season 8 of Generations: The Legacy and TVSA has you covered with the inside scoop on who's new and what's up with that mystery guy.
The season premieres on Monday 22 November and three days later we meet him in a hospital bed, under the watchful eye of Sphe's (Pearl Monama) stethoscope.
This from the
November teasers:
What is the deal with the mystery patient?
Today we can reveal his name: Lelethu, played by Class Act alumnus Yonda Thomas, whose repertoire includes roles on Isibaya, Saint & Sinners and Doubt, where he starred as a man accused of murder at his bachelor party.
His role as Lelethu is also a starring role so he'll be in the thick of the new season.
Lelethu's a reporter by profession, but this is only to pay the bills because he desperately wants to be a writer of grand and influential works.
According to his official biography:
He wrote a seminal work on gangsterism in his youth: he befriended the gangsters, and he wrote about it.
The gangsters felt betrayed - he spilt their secrets. But he got the story and the accolades so it was all worth it!
He won multiple, premier, non-fiction awards both locally and abroad. But that was years ago. And he’s been trying to recapture that lightening ever since.
How does Sphe feel about him? A clue: he's charming and witty and moves from woman to woman - openly and honestly without hiding his antics.
Pele's (Andile Nebulane) going to have a problem with this apparently, because he doesn't understand why women like him so much when it's clear he's such a Casanova.
He's also described as unselfconsciously sexy, well behaved and someone who treats women well, so this must be what knocks their socks off.
As Yonda steps into this new lead role, he's joined by Zola Nombona who's been promoted to starring cast as investigative journalist Pamela Khoza.
Word from Gen publicist Nandipha Pantsi is that we'll be seeing a lot more of her in the season.
This is Zola's
tenth starring role in her ever expanding list of credits which includes Z'bondiwe, iNumber Number, Lockdown, Forced Love, Single Guyz and Galz, Mzansi Love and iThuba Lokugcina.
But wait... there's more: Ayanda's father Mandla Majola arrives shortly before Christmas and looks set to be much more of a problem than a present.
He's played by Momelezi Ntshiba, who's appeared in numerous TV shows including Z'bondiwe, Rhythm City and Saints & Sinners, where he starred as Silas in Season 3.
And he's been in Gen before, in the guest role of Mr Khawula, back
in 2014 before it was The Legacy.
He makes his first appearance as Mr Majola on 8 December.
