It was love at first sight for comedienne and actress Tumi Morake when she first met her future husband Mpho Osei-Tutu at the University of the Witwatersrand.
What started out as a friendship developed into a blooming relationship as they worked together behind-the-scenes of several productions.
Ebrahim Rasool and Rosieda Shabodien
Ebrahim Rasool and Rosieda Shabodien are freedom fighters that found love in apartheid South-Africa and have never looked back.
Politician and former premier ambassador to the United States, Ebrahim Rasool, and his wife - social justice advocate Rosieda Shabodien - have a unique bond: a truly egalitarian relationship of equals that stems from their commitment to their faith, a lifelong commitment to fight injustice and eradicate inequality and a love that survived the onslaught of the apartheid government.
Nicky van der Walt and Lee-Ann Liebenberg
From the moment Nicky van der Walt and Lee-Ann Liebenberg first laid eyes on each other, they knew they were meant to be together.
She was a teenager, and both knew instinctively that they were not ready to be together.
Instead, they both went on to pursue very high-profile relationships at the time.
As fate would have it, both relationships ended and in an added twist, both couples found their "happily ever after" with the other one's partner.
More than a decade into their marriage, they love each other as passionately as the day they first met and are totally committed to each other, the entrepreneurial ventures that they pursue together and above all, their three children: Isabella, Gia and Jagger.
Jerry Mofokeng wa Makhetha and Claudine Mofokeng
Veteran actor Jerry Mofokeng wa Makhetha and his Claudine have been married for so long that they finish each other's sentences.
They are so completely aligned that they seem to be able to read each other's mind, yet they admit that there are still times, four decades into their marriage, when they seem to be at cross purposes with each other, especially on the eve of one of their marriage seminars.
Veteran actor and writer Jerry and his wife, nurse and counsellor Claudine, have learnt that faith, commitment and even fame and celebrity does not isolate one's family from the onslaughts of life.
They have used these experiences to help other couples to build healthy marriages where all parties can thrive.
They speak frankly about the challenges that they have had to face within their family and the downside of being subjected to such close media scrutiny.
Jay Naidoo and Lucie Pagé
The last couple to be featured this season is Jay Naidoo and Lucie Pagé.
Lucie was a young Canadian journalist, assigned to cover the democratic transition in South Africa and when she saw the ease with which the young firebrand trade unionist, Jay Naidoo, controlled a packed Orlando stadium, she was instantly attracted to him.
As fate would have it, she met him quite by chance at a jazz club that evening, and they embarked on a heady seven-day fling.
Later that year, she invited him to visit her in Canada and their fate was sealed.
Despite great personal sacrifices, they were determined to make a life and raise a family together whilst remaining steadfast in their work towards a just and more equitable country.
Today they consider themselves elders, true wisdom keepers who continue to contribute through their writing, philanthropy and wise counsel.
