They say justice is blind; but the path to that lofty ideal is often paved with dramatic twists and turns, tales of betrayal, buried secrets and unsung heroes.

In this series, People magazine seeks to uncover the truth behind some of the USA's most infamous characters and iconic stories of crime.

The series delves into the heart-wrenching stories of lives and families ripped apart by crimes that transcended news and became part of popular culture.

Featuring exclusive interviews, new facts and emotional first-hand accounts by those closest to the investigation, People's own journalists seek to divulge new facts and evidence while revealing the shocking twists and unexpected resolutions that occurred while they were investigating each emotionally riveting case.

These are extraordinary tales of ordinary people who were thrust into the national spotlight.

In the Season 6 premiere, "Groene Family Massacre": A savage killer goes on a homicidal rampage and then abducts two young siblings from their home in the middle of the night.
