Me or the Menu

A new twist on the relationship docuseries, Me or the Menu finds four couples trying to beat the odds of ending up in divorce court, while also navigating the unique challenges of the cutthroat restaurant industry.

Me or the Menu shines a spotlight on some of the reasons that approximately 60 percent of restaurants fail and nearly 50 percent of marriages end in divorce.

While some of the featured couples have just opened the doors of their new restaurants, others are diving-in headfirst hoping to make it to opening day.

Despite being at different stages of their journeys, each couple feels the pressure to make their business and their relationship a success.

But balancing a stressful restaurant start-up and the needs of a significant other may prove to be the ultimate test.

These couples know that if they want to keep their restaurant dreams alive it won't be easy, but they hope it will be worth it.

In the series premiere, "Meet the Couples": Four restaurateurs chase their dreams of opening their first restaurant alongside their significant other.

Although they're at different stages of the process, they all feel the pressure.

Kathleen, a home cook turned food truck owner; and her fiancé, Nate; have just a few hours to prepare for a big event, but Kathleen has doubts about whether Nate can step up and be the partner she needs.

James, a rising star on the Chicago culinary scene; and his supportive wife, Jessica; argue about finances both at home and at the restaurant.

Working long hours puts pressure on Randi, an industry veteran and first-time restaurant owner; and his fiancée, Jeanette; as their lives are put on hold until their restaurant hits the black.

Nicole, a self-taught cook with big dreams; and her boyfriend, Alan; clash over power dynamics as they visit a vegan spot to get ideas for their vegetarian restaurant concept.

Mary Kay Letourneau: Notes on a Scandal

With all the ingredients of a Hollywood movie, this sex scandal shocked, enthralled and enraged 1990s America.

34-year-old elementary school teacher, Mary Kay Letourneau, who was married with four kids, began an affair in 1997 with her 12-year-old student, Vili Fualauu.

They not only didn't deny the outrageous behaviour, but they would also eventually embrace the love affair that included French kissing on school grounds, trysts in her van and even sexual rendezvous in her family home.

The question on everyone's mind was: Is this true love, or is Mary Kay Letourneau a paedophile, guilty of child rape?
