Makoti... Are You the One? 2
Channel: Mzansi Magic (DStv 161)
TX Time: 19h00
Genre: Reality
What happens when four potential wives choose to move into their potential mother-in-law's home, with the hopes of earning their blessing to marry her son?
That's the premise of Makoti... Are You the One?
The series takes the cultural practice referred to as 'ukukotiza' in isiZulu – a period where a woman moves in with her in-laws after lobola is paid – and brings it earlier into the courtship, allowing couples to possibly stop themselves from making what could be a huge mistake.
The show follows couples from vastly different backgrounds who are hoping to take their relationship to the ultimate step, marriage.
But will their ideological, religious, socioeconomic and cultural differences get in the way of their happiness?
There's only one way to find out – by the potential wife moving in with her potential in-laws for 21 days, so that she can master and execute tasks that test if she is indeed someone who can fit into her new family.
By the end of the season, the couples will either make it out out stronger, or crumble.
What happens if the mothers-in-law doesn't approve of their potential makotis – will the son go ahead and marry the woman they love without Mommy's consent?
This season explores the opinions and tasks given to Refiloe, Pinky, Sophie and Wendy by their in-laws in order to determine whether the women are the appropriate fit for their potential families.
Refiloe approached Linda, a tavern owner and hip-hop DJ, as a groupie via Facebook six years ago.
Refiloe is ready to walk down the aisle, but his family wants her to first help him take responsibility for the kids he had before they met.
Taking viewers to her in-law home in Jeppestown, while dealing with their trust issues, Pinky and Shaun have been together since 2016.
They also face the struggle of convincing his mother that she's not as ill-mannered and lazy as his mother believes her to be.
How will she convince her mother-in-law that she's not there to steal the family's breadwinner?
Sophie is a 23-year-old team leader at an insurance company, in a relationship with 28-year-old Prince.
The two met at university in 2019 – the same year she fell pregnant, and he ghosted her.
In the wake of reuniting, his strict Ndebele family has made it clear that they prefer his ex-girlfriend.
Then there's Wendy and Lorraine who met and started their office romance in 2018.
Will their families bless their pending nuptials as the two learn to navigate their blended family and try to convince them that their same sex relationship is not a passing phase?
Despite the influence of their potential in-laws, can the women make their relationships work?

Into the Wild: Colombia
Channel: S3
TX Time: 17h00
Genre: Wildlife, Nature, Documentary Series
Home to 1 in 10 of all species on the planet, other than Brazil, Colombia is the most biologically diverse country on Earth.
Straddling the equator, it has both Pacific and Atlantic coastlines.
Between these, its landscapes are shaped by the soaring peaks of the Andes and carved by the mighty Amazon and Orinoco Rivers.
These dramatic landscapes give Colombia a unique array of habitats: patchworks of mangroves meander through grasslands; mirror-like wetlands fringe verdant rainforests and sandy deserts; snow-capped peaks tower over slopes clad in misty cloud forests.
Colombia's combination of constant tropical temperatures and ample rain produces the perfect conditions for an explosion of life.
Throughout its diverse mosaic of habitats, it is home to more species of vertebrates than anywhere else on Earth.
But however rich the habitat may be, for its inhabitants, life is never easy.
This series tells the stories of five very different groups of animals trying to survive the challenges presented by their homes, their neighbours, and sometimes even their own kind...
In the series premiere, "A Capuchin's Tale": In the heart of the Colombian rainforest, a young capuchin monkey must master his climbing skills, source his food and learn to distinguish friend from foe.
