The new series is titled Skemergrond and it replaces long-running Arendsvlei in July this year, also with new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays.
Here's a bouquet of what we know what know about it so far:
It centres round the Louw family who own a beautiful flower farm in Gemoedsdrif.
Their peaceful existence is turned upside down when unexpected guests arrive who threaten to reveal shocking family secrets. Old wounds are opened and new bonds are forged to save and protect the Louws and their legacy.
The action takes place between the Western Cape countryside and the flower markets of Cape Town.
The show's lead director is actress-turned-regisseur Roxanne Blaise, who played Gadija in Sara se Geheim and will be seen in M-Net's upcoming new thriller White Lies.
She's currently directing on Arendsvlei and was nominated for a Best Director award for the short film Die Blokke at last year's Silwerskerm Film Festival.
Roxanne's joined by fellow Sara se Geheim actress and Isidingo star Marisa Drummond, who's one of the directors, along with Arendsvlei actor-turned-director Bobby Stuurman who's a trainee director on the show and also the dialogue coach.
With all this production interconnectedness it's no surprise that the series is produced by Arendsvlei and Diepe Waters production house Penguin Films.
The creative producers are Roberta Durrant and Andrea Frankson-Titus.
The writing team is made up of writers who've written on various series, including Arendsvlei, Diepe Waters and Suidooster.
They are:
Jo-Ann Scholtz (7de laan),
Johann Davis (Arendsvlei, Suidooster),
Alyzzander Fourie (High Rollers, Isidingo),
Margaret Goldsmid (Diepe Waters, Arendsvlei, Afgrond),
Meesha Aboo (Diepe Waters, Unseen, Arendsvlei),
Kanya Viljoen (Arendsvlei),
Lauren Scholtz (Arendsvlei, Diepe Waters),
Henry Cloete (Arendsvlei, Diepe Waters, Suidooster),
Tristam Atkins (Diepe Waters, Unseen, Arendsvlei, Suidooster).
The show's themes include deeply held family secrets, revenge, true love, lies and crumbling friendships.
The cast hasn't been announced yet - we'll keep you posted.
