This is it eventually. 1Not-So-Magic shuts down on 31 March 2024, after months of chaos and years of wandering the desert like a tumbleweed.
This latest development has been confirmed by DStv's EPG, which says the same thing about Me too, which can only be a good thing because the name is ridiculous.
As you know,
both channels have been surrounded by confusion since the start of the year when some DStv subscribers received a message saying they were being terminated on 2 February.
But this didn't happen and new shows kept premiering on the Me channel while 1Not-So-Magic was bombarded with
Showmax sloppy seconds.
A very different scenario from when it first went live back in 2018.
1Magic replaced the equally ill fated Vuzu Amp on Monday 29 January of that year and Me launched on 1 November, 2021 as a combination of M-Net City and Vuzu.
At the time, 1Magic described itself as follows:
A provider of gripping local dramas, telenovelas, reality shows and movies to viewers who are also looking for the best in international reality, drama and movies.
It celebrates the duality of the modern African viewer, by putting Viola Davis alongside Sindi Dlathu, Olivia Pope alongside Thembisa Mdoda, and Jay Ellis next to Phat Joe, on a single channel.
And Me was created as a channel of repeats of international content previously broadcast on the Premium bouquet M-Net channels (M-Net and 1Magic).
The channel launched with dramas such as The Rookie, NCIS: New Orleans and Lioness; and reality programming including "The Real Housewives" franchise.

There's been no clarity from DStv as to what's going to happen to the shows on both once they shut down - we'll keep you posted when there is.
