Production has begun on Season 2 of the M-Net murder mystery series Recipes for Love and Murder and these are the first details about it:
Maria Doyle Kennedy, Tony Kgoroge and Kylie Fisher are reprising their roles as Tannie Maria, Detective Khaya Meyer and Kylie Fisher.
It's set in the same imaginary town as Season 1. This is the Season 2 plot:
When a large fire engulfs the small Karoo town of Eden, a fateful chain of events is triggered and Tannie Maria, Jessie and Khaya get dragged into a multiple murder investigation that unearths the town’s darkest secrets.
A quote by director Jozua Malherbe (Devil's Peak):
“Our aim for Season 2 is to provide viewers with the same original ingredients that made them love the inaugural season, while adding new layers and more unexpected flavours. We’re raising the stakes with the trauma of a large fire - and some of our most familiar characters meet mysterious and violent deaths”.
Karen Jeynes directs alongside Jozua and also wrote the season. It's produced by Thierry Cassuto of Both Worlds Pictures - Thierry and Karen also co-created Puppet Nation and the new locally produced series The Morning After which will be on Amazon, premiere date still to be confirmed.
The fine print: Recipes for Love and Murder is a partnership between AMC Networks’ Acorn TV, Multichoice and Both Worlds Pictures, in association with Global Screen and Paradoxal.
