Getroud met Rugby star Vaughn Lucas, who achieved his big break as a finalist on the first season of SABC1's reality acting show Class Act.
Which needs a comeback!
Vaughn went on to feature in multiple TV series after being on the show. He starred on the first two seasons of GMR, played Nathan on 7de Laan, was the Meth dealer on Isibaya and
joined four other Class Act alumni on the first South African Netflix series Shadow.
On Diepe Waters he plays André Jordaan, Jacques' childhood who's known Jacques and Theresa from their school days.
After school, André went overseas to play rugby but is now back in South Africa to work for his father’s construction company. Sparks fly when he sees Jacques and Theresa again.
Could they be a throuple?!
Three questions to Vaughn:
Tell us more about your role as André.
Vaughn: André is Jacques’ best friend from high school. Although André became an international rugby player and Jacques a world-renowned swimmer, their bond as each other’s brother from another mother has always remained strong. No matter what life throws at them, they are always there for each other.
How hard is it for you to keep a secret?
Vaughn: If I know that keeping the secret will protect someone, then it is relatively easy to do. But if it would cause harm to keep the secret, I would ask not to be the keeper of the secret.
If you could participate in the Olympic Games, what would it be in?
Vaughn: As a child, I always wanted to participate in martial arts at the Olympics, but when I was in high school and later university, it was my dream to row for South Africa.
