Awards ceremony created by Winnie Ntshaba which recognises achievement in South African soapie productions by honouring, celebrating and promoting creativity, quality and excellence from all major players.
These include actors, make-up artists, writers, producers, directors and costume designers.
The 2024 Royalty Soapie Awards were held at Heartfelt Arena in Pretoria on Saturday 24 August and air tonight, starting with a red carpet build-up at 19h30, followed by the ceremony at 20h00.
Like last year, The River leads the nominations with a total of 24, followed by S3's The Estate with 22.
e.tv's Scandal! and SABC1's Skeem Saam tied on 17 each with e.tv's House of Zwide coming in at 16.
The ceremony is hosted by actress and TV presenter Nomalanga Shozi and comedian Mpho Popps.
Khumbul'ekhaya co-presenter Samora Mangesi hosts the red carpet.

Love Next Door

The death of King Henry VIII sees his nine-year-old son Edward take the throne and sets into motion a dangerous scramble for power when Elizabeth, Edward and their sister Mary find themselves pawns in a game between the great families of England and the powers of Europe who vie for control of the country.
Additional key players in the relentless quest for power include King Henry's widow, Catherine Parr; Thomas Seymour, the new King's uncle who quickly marries the widowed Catherine but soon takes an interest in the teenage Elizabeth; and Duke of Somerset, who loses no time in claiming the position of Lord Protector for himself when the old King dies.
In the series premiere, "Keep Your Knife Bright": Following the death of Henry VIII, his three children - Mary, Elizabeth and Edward - are now pawns in a dangerous game as the English court is plunged into a race for control of the new England they find themselves in.
Spring Baking Championship 9

Love is in the air on the new season of Spring Baking Championship, as host Jesse Palmer puts a dozen talented bakers to the test in 10 episodes featuring unique challenges that showcase all the things we love about springtime - flowers, garden parties, weddings and more.
The bakers must illustrate their skill, passion and, most of all, love for baking while ensuring their flavours and decorations embody the season to win over judges Kardea Brown, Nancy Fuller and Duff Goldman.
In the Season 9 premiere, "Who Do You Love?": 12 bakers enter the Spring Baking kitchen and are tasked by host Jesse Palmer to give a fresh Spring makeover to the desserts that made them fall in love with baking.
Judges Kardea Brown, Nancy Fuller and Duff Goldman determine which baker's skills have blossomed to move on in the competition.
One of the biggest culminations of love is a wedding - in the finale the three remaining bakers must design and create a dream wedding cake for a real couple.
In the end, one baker is crowned the new Spring Baking Champion and takes home the cash prize and a spot in Food Network Magazine.
