Ed Stafford believes that modern British dads are in trouble.
They're becoming too soft, too comfortable, and too risk-averse - they've lost touch with their purpose as male role models.
Ed passionately believes that his job as a father is to push, test and challenge his family in whatever way he can - to strengthen them, and turn them into better people.
It's why this year Ed has decided to leave Britain behind and take his wife Laura and their three young children to live in the jungle in Costa Rica.
But they won't be going alone...
Ed's plan is to establish an extreme wilderness adventure school, based on programs he has been part of in the UK, helping struggling modern dads - and their kids - by putting them both through some of the toughest outdoor experiences on the planet.
By stripping all the distractions of the 21st century away, Ed thinks his wilderness camp can help them discover what it really means to be a dad.
In this series, we're following the first ever cohort to go through Ed's wilderness survival camp.
Over the course of several weeks a group of ordinary, struggling, out-of-their-comfort-zone British dads - each bringing one of their kids with them - will live in the heart of the Central American jungle.
They'll sleep in home-made shelters, catch and cook their own food, dig toilets, build fires, dodge spiders, snakes and scorpions while dealing with boiling heat, biting insects and sky-high humidity.
But that isn't all.
As they battle to cope with the extremes of everyday life, in each episode they'll also have to tackle a wilderness challenge specially designed by Ed to test both their individual characters and their relationships with one another.
Whether they are jumping from towering mountain gorges or fighting the rip-tide in homemade dug out canoes, trekking through pitch-black night in the jungle or being stranded in the wilderness and left to fend for themselves - each challenge will test them in ways they've never experienced before.
Because in Ed's view, traditional qualities of risk-taking, resilience and adventure are crucial to children's development - but that in modern society these qualities are dangerously threatened.
Whether through fear, ignorance, or a lack of role models, British blokes are losing touch with the qualities that make them useful - and while they're glued to social media updates, true crime podcasts and diet plans, their core values are being lost forever.
In the series premiere: Ed challenges the dads to navigate their way through dense jungle to find their kids.
To reach them, the dads must take an eye-watering leap of faith from a 25-foot-high cliff into deep waters below.

But after a chance encounter with Jillian (Claudia O'Doherty), a down-on-her-luck Uber driver who introduces him to the wild world of state-sponsored python hunting, he decides to go all in to make his American dream come true.
Craig teams up with Jillian to enter a state-sponsored snake-hunting contest in hopes of achieving the American dream and becoming a successful entrepreneur.
The second season picks up a year later, as Craig and Jillian take the money they won from the Florida Python Challenge and use it to buy a saw palmetto berry farm.
Craig is so close to realising his dream of shrinking men's prostates, making his family proud and - most importantly - getting filthy rich.
Just as they're about to start making money, however, a series of unexpected visitors (some human, some not) threaten to destroy everything they've built.
In the Season 2 premiere, "What You Sow": Craig and Jillian prepare for the farm's first shipment of saw palmetto berries, but a series of unexpected visitors puts everything they've worked for in jeopardy; a new employee is a thorn in their side.

In each episode, home preservationist and history buff Mike Lemieux, carpenter Rich Soares and designer Jen Macdonald will team up to save centuries-old properties in and around Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Along the way, they will share the homes' fascinating origins and renovation stories.
In the Season 2 premiere, "The One with Mark Twain": The premiere episode will feature the restoration and renovation of an 1800's historic home in Fairhaven that was originally a potting shed on the Henry Huttleston Rogers estate.
The property has a vibrant history associated with its original oil tycoon owner who was a close associate of John D. Rockefeller, benefactor of Helen Keller, and friend of Mark Twain.
The new owners love the home's charming character including unique windows and original hand-carved woodwork, but they will task Mike, Rich and Jen to incorporate modern functionality and design in the kitchen, living spaces and main suite in order to make it their own.

Evil is a psychological mystery that examines the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion.
The series focuses on a skeptical female psychologist who joins a priest-in-training and a contractor as they investigate the Church's backlog of unexplained mysteries, including supposed miracles, demonic possessions and hauntings.
Their job is to assess if there is a logical explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work.
In the upcoming season, Kristen, David and Ben continue to assess cases that involve wayward technology, possessed pigs, demonic oppression and infestation, a dance muse conjured by alleged witches and an evil relic.
Throughout, Leland attempts to lure Kristen into raising a baby antichrist who was conceived with her ovum.
David is recruited by the Vatican's secret service to "remote view" a paranormal ability to see the unseen in order to detect evil.
Ben is hit by an ion beam, causing him to see visions of a taunting jinn until he discovers an unusual solution to banish it.
Finally, all three realise they only have a few weeks left to assess cases because the parish has decided to disband the team due to a lack of funds.
This culminates in one last confrontation with Leland and the 60 families that make up Evil in the modern world.
In the Season 4 premiere, "How to Split an Atom": Kristen learns the details of Leland's evil scheme involving her ovum, and Sheryl's involvement only increases the tension.
Meanwhile, David, Ben and Kristen are sent to investigate a particle accelerator suspected to be a gateway to Hell.

But the US invasion signals a larger threat.
COVID has proven that Pierpoint can do more with less, so the die is cast: either New York CPS or London CPS will subsume the other.
