EPISODE TENArgh - you're never gonna believe it! I'd was almost finished jotting down my thoughts on the episode and I lost it all. I have no clue what happened but I pressed the wrong button wildly and everything disappeared!
I had sooo much to say about it like the fact that Chris defs deserved to go for being such a total Pig and that Sandy really impressed me, proving her claims to know about weddings are very true.
The way she took control of their task of organising the Bridal exhibition was excellent - espesh considering she ended up doing it all alone.
Kelly was useless as team lader, didn't do a thing and he, Wes and Maria - whose lies to cover up her mistakes are
too much - didn't say thank you to Sandy for the $50 000 worth of diamonds they won because of her.
I was busy-busy going off about this when I lost everything, losing concentration after pausing to have a chuckle at Melania's accent again. What is it exactly? Austrian? Belgian? A Frenchie-mix of both? While she gave them her lines I was having the best time mimicking it - with long extended Polish-fied deep vowel sounds.
How's her for having a body suited to her more than any other could ever be? It's really quite freaky when you see just how much of a doll she is to Donald.
Those diamonds - I'm sorry but I honestly just don't see what the big deal is with them. I'm convinced people have been totally hoodwinked by whoever's in charge of them because I don't see how any stone, no matter how shiny - can be worth a million bucks.
Also, I'm really not mad about everything that they represent - the need to be so showy about how much money you have, the idea of judging people based on what type of watch they're wearing.
This is a big thing in business I hear - I've heard it a couple of times - and I find it impossible to understand. I mean, if people in business who have lots of money are supposed to be so important why are they so thick that they'd judge someone by the type of thing they wear to tell the time??
I felt the same iffyness as everyone else when Kelly was buying his watch. He obviously doesn't have a chick to get anything for but that he got so excited about the watch and the way he looked at it - it just highlighted what I don't agree with about pricey jewellery - before Melania's humdinging moment.
The shot of her standing with the six million dollar necklace on just seemed soo indulgent I was cringing. How can you do that? Stand and pose with your jewels, wanting everyone to be impressed at what you managed to get by marrying someone. Puhlease.
She seriously highlighted how little money actually says about people. It constantly fries my brain how wealth can be seen as such a very serious measure of your worth and how valuable you are. It's has lots to do with power too I imagine - like "I'm wearing more diamonds than you so I've got more power than you and I just have to show you because I'm so insecure" type of thing.
I've always thought the saying that they're a girls best friend is absolute rubbish. Where did that come from? Who got that to stick? I actually find it insulting that anyone could assume they are for me. Sure, if I got them I'd accept them graciously but the idea of seeing a diamond and getting bleary-eyed because of them is mind-boggling.
Please don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-materialism etc - the only car I dream of having and
will have is a Ferrari - but rather there's a point at which things become waay too indulgent.
Not that I'm into having social responsibility all the over the place but how can you preen with a stupid necklace that costs more than putting a bunch of kids through school and sleep peacefully?
It didn't surprise me that Jenn was the one in Apex to mention what Mosaic were winning by way of the diamonds. Things like diamonds and watches and any pricey jewellery being taken so seriously - it just creeps me out and isn't for me - which is why Jenn needs to leave next.
Which is what I was maaadly banging on the keyboard with fingers full of diamond rings when everything disappeared. I've currently got two stones on my left hand, three on my right as well as a matching necklace, plus earrings. I hope you're ultra impressed and think me very special and are imagining my Melania accent as I say it.
What are your thoughts? Am I solo or did you feel the same way about their prize?
