After weeks of searching for a South African male to take the coveted role of Michael Scofield in Brown Shuga's edition of Prison Break SA, I can now report that we have a perfect match.
The spec for finding this lucky guy was simple really, HE JUST HAD TO BE CUTE.
The suggestions that were brought forward included Derek Nyathi (aka Hlomla Dandala), Gyles from Backstage and George from 7de Laan but the guy who beat all the men in SA is none other than our own Carl Beukes (Paul in Isidingo).
Hlomla's new role in Tsha Tsha (SABC1) is so-not-Scofield material and there is something about the new Derek Nyathi that is not sexy anymore.
As for Gyles (no time to look up his real name) in Backstage, the poor guy is solely eliminated by the fact that he is on BACKSTAGE. With the competition they face in the 18:30 time slot, I wonder who is still watching!
Would Scofield take up a role in Backstage? I think not.
George from 7de Laan, cute as he is, Carl is a better match for the profile.
And now to Carl, isn't he GORGEOUS?
I think he is a wonderful actor too, all that is left now is for Tashi to present him with a TVSA award (you did think about those right?) and of course for him to meet with SA's own Dr Sara Tancreti.
