Bio
Sara Gilbert is an American actress best known for her starring role as Darlene Conner-Healy, a tomboy who loves sports and has trouble in school but during high school becomes moody, artistic, an animal rights activist and a vegetarian, in the television sitcom Roseanne, which garnered her two Emmy nominations.
She is also known as the co-host and creator of the daytime talk show The Talk, and for her recurring role as Leslie Winkle on the television sitcom The Big Bang Theory.
Her additional television credits include roles on ER, Twins, 24, Will & Grace, Grey's Anatomy, Law & Order: SVU and Private Practice, as well as Welcome to New York, The Big Bang Theory and The Class on the Network.
She has appeared in films such as Poison Ivy, Riding in Cars with Boys, Desert Blue, Light It Up, The Big Tease and High Fidelity.
A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Yale University with a degree in Art, Gilbert made her directorial debut with the critically acclaimed short film Persona Non Grata. She has exhibited her photographs in New York City at Paul Morris Gallery and at the Deutsche Guggenheim Museum in Berlin.
In 2014 she starred as Irene, a socially awkward teacher at Richard Nixon Middle who is eager to become friends with Meredith, in the sitcom Bad Teacher.
