Sandra Ferreira (24 November 1950 - 23 October, 2013) was a South African actress best known for her role as Ant Sophie in the Afrikaans television drama series Dryfsand, which aired on kykNET and M-Net (2007) and SABC3, in 2009.
Sandra was born on a maize farm in the Free State in 1950. She graduated from Potchefstroom University in 1975 and had a degree in Psychology (1972) and in Drama (1975).
She started her professional stage career at CAPAB and performed in numerous stage productions as part of the company, including Othello, The Promise, The Frogs and many more.
In 1980 she started freelancing in Johannesburg and although stage was her big love she played memorable characters in a number of television productions including Matewis en Meraai, Roep van die Visarend, Meisie van Suidwes, The Angel and The Bicycle, Plek van die Vleisvreters, Hart van Staal, Getroud met Rugby, Onder Draai die Duiwel Rond and Song vir Katryn.
She died in Johannesburg on 23 October, 2013 following a long battle with emphysema. She was 62 years old.
