Nikki Amuka-Bird is a Nigerian-born English actress best known for her leading role as Samantha Willis - the last surviving member of the government - in the reimagined BBC apocalyptic series Survivors, from 2008-2010.
Since graduating, Nikki has performed in many on-screen, theatre and radio productions including, in the theatre, Twelfth Night at the Bristol Old Vic for which she received an Ian Charleson Award nomination in 2004; World Music at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield and the Donmar Warehouse, Top Girls and 50 Revolutions for the Oxford Stage Company; and A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Tempest and The Servant of Two Masters for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Film and television credits include the 2006 remake of The Omen (20th Century Fox); Cargo (Slate Films); Almost Heaven (Egoli Tossell Films); Grafters, Safe As Houses, Silent Witness, Afterlife, Whistleblowers, The Man Of Law’s Tale, Silent Witness, Shoot The Messenger, The Line Of Beauty, Spooks, Robin Hood, Born Equal, Five Days, Torchwood and The Last Enemy (BBC).
In 2008 she joined the cast of Survivors, and also appeared in an episode of The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency.
