Bio
Ngozi Paul is a Canadian actress best known for her starring role as Starr in the television sitcom Da Kink in My Hair, since 2007.
She was named one of Toronto’s Top Ten Actors by NOW Magazine, and was nominated for Best Actress at U.K’s Black International Film Festival for her powerful performance as Susan in Bayan.
On the stage, Ngozi is a recipient of Stratford Festival’s Tyrone Guthrie Award and was praised for her portrayal of the young Nelson Mandela in Michael Miller’s play In the Freedom of Dreams.
She also appeared in Talk to Me with Don Cheadle and was named Reelworld Film Festival’s ‘Trailblazer’.
She was an integral member of the original creative team of Canada’s first Black Sitcom, Lord Have Mercy!, which was nominated for two Gemini Awards including best comedic series.
As Vice-President of Production and Development for Wilbo Entertainment, Ngozi was pleased to be the co-producer of the landmark television event, The Tonya Lee Williams Gospel Jubilee, which aired on the CBC in March of 2004.
As the founder and President of Ngozika Productions, Ngozi has created diverse content, including the short film, SHADES. Ngozika productions produced the Canadian Urban Music Awards, a star-studded, exhilarating concert and awards show, which aired on SunTV.
Paul also produced Urban X-Posure for CanWest Media, which aired on Global in 2007 and included incredible performances by such well-known Canadian artists as Jully Black, Kardinal Offishall, K-OS, and Keisha Chante.
