Marissa Jaret Winokur is an American actress best known for her performance as Tracy Turnblad in the highly successful Broadway musical adaptation of John Waters' film Hairspray, for which she won a Tony Award, Drama Desk Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actress.
She hosted the reality competition dancing weightloss series Dance Your Ass Off in 2009 and was also a co-host of the daytime talk show The Talk, from 2010-2011. She left The Talk after the first season.
Her other television credits include Dancing with the Stars, Stacked, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Moesha, The Steve Harvey Show, Just Shoot Me!, Felicity and Dharma & Greg, as well as the telefilms It Was One of Us and Beautiful Girl, which she also executive produced.
She has appeared in such films as Fever Pitch, Teaching Mrs. Tingle, Never Been Kissed, Scary Movie and American Beauty. She is also a correspondent for TV Guide Network's Hollywood 411 and Reality Chat, while starring in the Nora Ephron play, Love, Loss and What I Wore, at the Geffen Playhouse.
Winokur and her husband, comedy writer Judah Miller, reside in Los Angles with their son Zev.
