Bio
Viljé Maritz is a South African actor best known for his role as Gys Eloff in the M-Net soapie Binneland (formerly known as Binnelanders and Binneland Sub Judice), from 2009-2012. It was his first major acting role.
He also starred as Ben King in the SABC3 drama series High Rollers, in 2013.
Born David De Villiers Maritz, he received the 2008 Best Acting Trophy Honorary School Colours for National Best Actor (ATKV), and Roll of Honour for participating in the National Best Production (ATKV) coupled with his work experience expanding to two films: Verraaiers and Unto Dust and television appearances in Donkerland, High Rollers, Die Boland Moorde, Vloeksteen and Binneland.
In 2014 he had a starring role as Werner Steyn, a playboy with no desire to waste his time on studying who is into surfing, girls, bikes and music, in the SABC2 drama series Swartwater.
In the same year he was a co-presenter of the SABC3 Afrikaans-language lifestyle and magazine programme NAweek.
Viljé was head boy of Jan van Riebeeck High School in Cape Town, matriculating in 2008. He is the son of actor Albert Maritz.
