George Coe (born 1929) is an American actor best known for his role as Ben Cheviot, the eventual head of Network 23, in the sci-fi comedy series Max Headroom, from 1987-1988.
He currently voices the starring role of Archer's valet Woodhouse in the animated television series Archer, since 2009.
Coe was a member of the original Broadway companies of What Makes Sammy Run?, Mame, Company and On the Twentieth Century and has appeared in touring productions of Look Homeward, Angel and Gypsy.
In the mini-musical Money, that ran for a year at New York's famous cabaret Upstairs at the Downstairs, George famously played 22 different roles.
He has acted in numerous off-Broadway and regional theatre productions, most recently at the La Jolla Playhouse, the Long Wharf Theatre in The Model Apartment, South Coast Rep and at the Geffen Playhouse in God's Man in Texas.
George's five decades in television include starring roles in the daytime dramas Somerset, The Doctors and All My Children.
His extensive primetime credits include Bones, Numb3rs, Nip/Tuck, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Private Practice, Grey's Anatomy, Supernatural, Cold Case, Gilmore Girls, Judging Amy, Smallville and The West Wing.
George has also appeared in over 30 films including Kramer vs. Kramer, The Stepford Wives, Best Seller, The Mighty Ducks, Big Eden and the classic short film De Düva (The Dove).
He also appeared as Adam Sandler's father in Judd Apatow's comedy Funny People.
