Theresa Joy is a Canadian actress best known for her role as Billy in the police procedural television series The Bridge, in 2010.
A classically trained actor and dancer, Joy's extensive experience has led her across the United States, Canada and Europe.
Film credits include the upcoming Puck Hogs; The Breeder; All the Good Ones Are Married; Cognitive Dissonance; Reno 911! Miami; The Woods and Bad Luck. Joy's television credits include roles on Nip/Tuck; Entourage; Why Can't I Be You and La Femme Nikita.
Joy's work in theatre has taken her to stages across New York and Toronto. Her role as one of the Witches in Forward Theatre's 2005 production of MacBeth earned her rave reviews.
Other theatre credits include Regan in King Lear; Viola in Twelfth Night; Hero in Much Ado About Nothing and Queen Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
A former NFL Cheerleader, Joy was the host for the live Superbowl broadcast in 1999, 2000 and 2001 and co-hosted the CBS Buffalo Morning Show.
She is very active in world issues, including the Save Darfur Coalition; writing and distributing a local newsletter that gets children living green, and working with a number of child welfare agencies.
Joy splits her time between Toronto, New York City, Los Angeles and Europe.
