Bio
Merrin Dungey is a American actress best known for her television roles as Francie Calfo on Alias (2001-2003), as Kerry Palmer on The King of Queens (1998-2007) and as Susannah Rexford on Summerland (2004-2005).
She has had recurring roles on Party Girl, Grosse Pointe, Malcolm in the Middle and Grey's Anatomy.
Dungey has also guest starred on Martin (her screen debut in 1995), Babylon 5, Living Single, Caroline in the City, ER, Murphy Brown, Seinfeld, Tracey Takes On..., Saved by the Bell: The New Class, The West Wing, G vs E, Jesse, City of Angels, Friends, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Boston Legal.
Dungey also acted in the 2006 made-for-TV movie Beyond.
In film, she has appeared in the cinema releases Deep Impact (her feature film debut in 1998), Edtv (1999), The Sky Is Falling (2000), Odessa or Bust (2001) and Scream at the Sound of the Beep (2002).
In 2007 she will reprise her character of Dr. Naomi Bennett in the Grey's Anatomy spin-off Private Practice.
As a child, Dungey was active in ballet and dance as well as piano. She was also an accomplished ice skater.
Dungey graduated in 1989 from Rio Americano High School in Sacramento, California. She earned a degree of Bachelor of Arts from UCLA and was the youngest recipient of the UCLA Acting Award.
