Elvis Blue is a South African music teacher and musician best known as the winner of the sixth season of the M-Net reality competition Idols, in 2010.
Elvis is married and the father of a girl named Lila. He lives with his family in George. Elvis also teaches underprivileged youngsters how to play guitar – empowering the youth through music.
Elvis's real name is Jan Hoogendyk, but he adopted the name Elvis Blue as a tribute to an 11-year-old friend of his with the same name who passed away as a result of HIV/Aids complications in 2009.
When Elvis is not spending time strumming on the guitar or at home, you can find him in the ocean, addicted to surfing.
In 2013 he'll be the opening act to Bon Jovi when the band tour the country in May.
