Bio
Martin Phike is a South African singer, songwriter, actor and television presenter best known as a member of the band Ghetto Lingo, the winners of the third season of the reality television competition Popstars, in 2004.
He returned to host the fourth season of the show, on e.tv, in 2010.
His brother, Given, encouraged him to audition for Popstars in 2004. A very unprepared Martin took the plunge and came out on top, forming part of the band named Ghetto Lingo who later released two albums.
While working on the Ghetto Lingo albums, producer D'Rex interested Martin in a solo album and he is now an accomplished singer, actor, performer and songwriter who had a solo album nominated for a SAMA Award in 2008.
He also acted on the e.tv soapie Backstage, appeared on Channel O and presented Bibo on SABC2.
Martin was born in Gugulethu, in the Western Cape.
