Bio
Jessica McNamee is an Australian actress best known for her role as Sammy Rafter in the television dramedy series Packed to the Rafters, from 2008-2010.
She caught the acting bug early thanks to her older sisters Bec and Penny. Together they grew up doing musical theatre. While Bec's interest in acting waned, Jessica and Penny continued to pursue it as they got older.
It was while majoring in drama during her final year of school that Jessica decided acting was for her. Upon finishing school she scored a role in the Network Ten drama Secretary alongside Vince Colosimo and Pia Miranda.
While the show was short-lived, she went on to appear on Home and Away twice in 2007 as Lisa Duffy. Firstly she was a love interest for Drew (Bobby Morley) and later returned to the show as Lucas' (Rhys Wakefield) girlfriend.
She scored the role of Sammy in Packed to the Rafters whilst still on Home and Away.
She has a keen interest in history and philosophy, and was majoring in both at Sydney University before she deferred her studies to pursue acting.
Jessica is also an avid fitness fanatic. She's into yoga, running and has been wakeboarding since 2002. When she's not working, she also spends time at Wattle Studio, a facility for intellectually handicapped young people established by her Aunty Clare.
Jessica also starred in Australia's Dancing With The Stars.
