Bio
Phat Joe is a South African radio DJ, television presenter and comedian best known for hosting the comedy talk show The Phat Joe Show, first on e.tv (1999-2001) and later on SABC1, from 2001-2005.
He is also known for hosting a variety of radio shows, a number of which resulted in him being fired for controversial remarks. Radio stations he has worked for include Radio Bop, Yfm, Metro FM, Kaya FM and Heart 104.9 FM.
In 2010 he was named as one of the new presenters of the SABC1 celebrity gossip show The Real Goboza for the show's fourth season, alongside Brenda Ngxoli.
In 2011 he was the co-host (with Bonang Matheba) of the 17th Annual South African Music Awards. He was also the co-host of the 13th Annual Metro FM Music Awards, alongside Pearl Thusi.
In 2014 he was the host of the SABC1 dating reality show Take Me Out South Africa.
In 2016 he began hosting the SABC3 breakfast show The Weekend Edition.
