LaVan Davis is an American singer and actor best known for his starring role as Curtis Payne on the television comedy-drama series House of Payne, since 2006.
He was one of the featured singers in Mickey Stevenson's touring stage production of The Gospel Truth and played Crazy Joe in the touring production of De Obeah Mon.
His other stage credits include his dual roles as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and The Buffalo Soldier in Maurice Kitchen's acclaimed Voices and as the father in the long-running production of Why Good Girls Like Bad Boys.
In the field of music, Davis has amassed a number of credits. He was a member of the original Ricky Grundy Chorale and was the featured lead singer on the group's recording of "Lead Me On."
He was also a member of the L.A. Mass Choir and appeared on the television airing of the Stellar Awards, in which he led the song "Be Encouraged."
