Bio
Lance Gross is an American actor best known for his starring role as Calvin Payne on the television comedy-drama series House of Payne, from 2007-2012.
He also has a starring role as Secret Service Special Agent Marcus Finley, a rookie who was betrayed by his partner, in the mystery thriller television drama series Crisis.
Gross received his Bachelor of Arts in theatre from Howard University. He went on to train at The Ivanna Chubbuck Studio and Tasha Smith Acting Studio.
In the music-video world, Gross has worked with such leading ladies as Rihanna, Mariah Carey and with Mary J. Blige on the video for her song Take Me As I Am.
He has also appeared on the television shows Eve and The Bernie Mac Show and starred alongside America Ferrera, Forest Whitaker and Carlos Mencia in Fox Searchlight's Our Family Wedding and guest-starred on USA Network's Royal Pains.
In 2012, Gross produced and starred in the independent feature The Last Fall, written and directed by Matthew A. Cherry. In the film, Gross portrays an NFL player who finds himself unemployed and struggling to reconnect with his family and high school sweetheart. The film premiered at the 2012 South by Southwest Film Festival.
Gross is the first actor to win four NAACP Image Awards for supporting actor in a comedy Series for his role on Tyler Perry's House of Payne.
