Slumko Ndyalivane is a South African actor best known for his role as BJ on the SABC1 drama series Montana, in 2009. It was his first television role.
Slumko was born in Stutterheim and spent lived in Johannesburg until 1990, when his father passed away. After his father died the family moved back to the Eastern Cape and later moved to Khayelitsha Township in the Western Cape, where Slumko matriculated at Kamvalethu High School.
While pursuing matric and contemplating career moves he realised he was thinking about acting a lot and thought, in his own words, "what the heck, let me just try it out".
He attended New Africa Theatre Association in Athlone for a one-year Performing Arts Certificate. After that he enrolled at the University of Cape Town for a BA in Theatre and Performance.
He was doing his last year of the degree in 2008 when he got a call to audition for Montana, which as it turned out was his acting breakthrough.
Slumko was raised by his mother, Thembeka Magumasholo Ndyalivane, and has three siblings: Yandiswa, S'vuyile and Andile. Slumko is the third-born.
He currently resides in Cape Town. He is repped by Emma Ress Management (ERM).
