Jesse Williams is an American actor and model best known for his role as Lena's boyfriend Leo in the film sequel The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (2008) and as Dr. Jackson Avery on the medical drama television series Grey's Anatomy, since 2009.
In film, he starred in MGM's single-camera thriller, Cabin in the Woods, from producer Joss Whedon, in 2011.
Williams made his big-screen debut in Warner Brothers' Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, playing Leo, the love interest to Alexis Bledel. He also starred in Overture's Brooklyn's Finest from award-winning director Antoine Fuqua, opposite Ethan Hawke, Richard Gere and Don Cheadle.
Past television credits include Greek and Law & Order.
Williams starred in award-winning playwright Edward Albee's The American Dreambox and The Sandbox at the Cherry Lane Theatre.
Williams currently splits his time between New York and Los Angeles.
