Bio
Anke Pietrangeli was the winner of the second season of Idols (South Africa), beating Poseletso Sejosingoe in the final.
Anke was born in Johannesburg but grew up in Kimberley. Her father, Hans Jurgen, was of Dutch descent; her mother Sarah was born in Kimberley.
She has one brother, Sven, a mechanical engineer.
She attended Hoerskool Noord-Kaap (Northern Cape High School), taking Afrikaans, English, Biology, Accounting, Typing and Mathematics.
After school she attended the Central University of Technology, Free State, studying sport management and medicine.
After winning Idols in 2003 Anke released her debut album By Heart in 2004, which she followed up with Limbo on the Sony/BMG label, which was recorded in English and Afrikaans.
