DJ Qualls is an American actor best known for his roles in the feature films Road Trip, The Core, Hustle & Flow and Delta Farce.
He is best known to television viewers for his starring role as Davey Sutton in the comedy-drama police procedural television series Memphis Beat, from 2010-2011.
His credits include the independent films Little Athens and I'm Reed Fish. He has also starred in The New Guy, Lone Star State of Mind, Chasing Holden, All About Steve, Big Trouble, Cherry Falls and Mama's Flora's Family.
In addition, Qualls co-produced and starred in the Lionsgate film Comic Book Villains, a dark comedy about the comic book industry and rival comic book stores.
Qualls' television credits include My Name is Earl, Criminal Minds, Lost, Monk, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Scrubs.
Qualls grew up in a small town in middle Tennessee and is one of five children. After studying at the University of London, he returned to Tennessee and began a series of odd jobs before performing in local theatre and later being discovered by photographers David Chappelle and Steven Kline.
This led to a lucrative career modeling for Prada, as well as many other advertising/editorial campaigns.
Qualls splits his time between Los Angeles and Tennessee. He is proud to be a cancer survivor and an advocate for cancer awareness and research.
