Jon Hensley is a former American actor and current singer/songwriter best known for his role as troubled but loving hero Holden Snyder on the television soap opera As the World Turns, from 1985-2010.
Hensley returned to As the World Turns in January 1997 after creating the popular role in October 1985. He left after three years, returning from 1990-1995.
In 2001, he garnered his first Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor. He was also a nominee for a Soap Opera Digest Award in 2000, along with co-star Martha Byrne, for Favorite Couple.
Hensley made his television debut playing Brody Price on One Life to Live. He has appeared on stage in Shakespeare's As You Like It at the Bucks County (Pennsylvania) Theater and has studied Shakespeare at the London Academy of Music, Drama and Art.
Hensley has appeared in the USA Network movie Wounded Heart, Beverly Hills, 90210 and the sitcom Almost Perfect.
Born on August 26, Hensley grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where his parents are in the restaurant business. He studied journalism at New York University.
He and his wife, Kelley Menighan Hensley, who plays Emily Stewart Munson on As the World Turns, were married in May 1996. They have three children Sophie May (born 1998), Spencer James (born 2002) and Georgia Grace (born 2007).
Hensley enjoys all sports and is an avid golfer. He is not to be confused with the similarly-named actor John Hensley, who starred on Nip/Tuck.
