Carrie Underwood is an American country music singer and guitarist, who won the fourth season of American Idol. She has since become a multi-platinum selling recording artist.
Her debut album, Some Hearts, was certified quintuple platinum, and is the fastest selling debut country album of all time. It is also the top selling debut album of any Idol winner or contestant.
Underwood won two Grammy awards at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday 11 February 2007: Best New Artist and Best Female Country Vocal Performance Grammy for "Jesus Take the Wheel".
