Sandrine Holt is a British-born Canadian model turned actress best known for her recurring television roles as Evelyn Martin, the aide to First Lady Martha Logan, in 24 (2006); as Catherine Rothberg in The L Word (2007); and as Erin Baxter in Runaway, in 2006.
She also has a starring role as Maria Gonzales, a member of the team that takes the Sanders family hostage, in the thriller television series Hostages.
Holt also stars in House of Cards, where she plays Gillian Cole, the passionate leader of a grass roots organisation. Additional television credits include the Canadian action series Once a Thief.
She has also had recurring roles on 24, The L Word and Las Vegas and has guest starred on The Mentalist, Bored to Death and ER.
Holt began her career starring in the feature film Black Robe, for which she earned a Prix Genie Award nomination. This led to Kevin Costner casting her for the female lead in Rapa Nui.
She co-starred in Resident Evil: Apocalypse, with Mila Jovovich, the French film Chinese Puzzle with Audrey Tatou, and appeared as Kate Beckinsale's co-star in Underworld: Awakening.
Born in England and raised in Canada, she is the daughter of a French mother and a Chinese father. Currently she lives in Los Angeles.
