Phaksy Mngomezulu is a South African singer best known as a Top 16 contestant on the seventh season of the M-Net reality competition Idols, in 2011; and as the winner of the SABC1 reality show U Can Do It, in 2013.
When he entered Idols, Phakamani was studying a Diploma in IT Networking at Varsity College in Durban, where he stayed with his older sister.
He has achieved Northern Coastal and KZN Development colours in rugby and has "BMT".
In 2013 he entered the reality competition U Can Do It and won the show with four other singers. Together they formed the group The Maples while they were on the show. The group won R150 000 and a one year recording contract with Universal Records.
Phaksy is originally from Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal.
