Raymond Ablack is a Canadian actor best known for his starring role as Sav Bhandari in the teen drama television series Degrassi: The Next Generation, since 2007.
Having appeared in TV commercials since the age of eleven, Raymond joined during the seventh season of Degrassi as Sav.
A competitive hockey player for 14 years, Raymond played the role of Young Simba in the theatre production of The Lion King in Toronto before landing his role on Degrassi.
Raymond has sung the national anthem at a Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey game and has a first degree black belt in Goju Ryu Karate-do, Kobudo (weaponry) and Jiu-Jitsu (ground-fighting).
Raymond enjoys comedy, rock-reggae music and also writing, directing, filming and producing his own short films. He also had a guest spot on the series Life With Derek.
Raymond is heavily involved with the organization "Free the Children" and, in 2007, traveled to Africa to build a school in Kenya. Ray traveled again with his cast in 2008 to Ecuador and in 2010 to India.
Documentaries were made of all three trips and aired on MTV Canada and MuchMusic.
