Bio
Dan Stevens is an English actor best known for his starring role as solicitor and heir to the earldom Matthew Crawley in the period drama television series Downton Abbey, from 2010-2012.
Stevens studied theatre at the London-based National Youth Theatre and then English literature at the University of Cambridge where he was a member of the amateur theatrical club, The Footlights.

He is married to South African jazz vocalist-turned-singing teacher, Susie Hariet. They met in 2006, when they were appearing at different theatres in Sheffield, England.
Stevens is also familiar for his role as Edward Ferrars in Sense & Sensibility. He was also seen in the Masterpiece production of Dracula, and appears alongside Alicia Silverstone in the 2012 feature film Vamps.
