Bio
Alby Michaels is a South African actor, director, dancer and voice artist best known for his starring television roles as Luke Taylor in One Way (2006-2007) and as Allan Duncan in Inkaba, from 2012-2013.
Graduating from the University of Pretoria with a BA Drama Degree cum Laude (1996-1998), Alby joined the University of Johannesburg in 2004 as Resident Director of Arts and Culture, a position he still holds today.
His television career began in 1998 with a role in the Danie Odendaal drama series Die Netwerk. He has since performed in numerous TV shows including Blikskottel, Jozi Streets, Binnelanders, 7de Laan, One Way and Inkaba.
Alby has an extensive theatre resume with work on productions including Amy's View, directed by Alan Swerdlow (1999); Julius Caesar and Macbeth for Janice Honeyman (2000); Vlerkdans and Skilpoppe, both directed by Lizz Meiring (2001); the Joyce Levinsohn productions The Secret Garden (2001), Beauty and the Beast (2003), Puss in Boots (2003) and Oliver Twist (2003); and Sing, which he also directed, in 2008.
He has also done work for numerous corporate clients including South African Breweries, Anglo Gold, Ego Deodorant and ABSA.
