Bio
Meagan Good is an American actress best known for her television roles as Nina in the sitcom Cousin Skeeter (1998-2001) and as Kali in the comedy-drama Californication, in 2012.
She is also known for her starring role as Joanna Padget Locasto, a San Francisco narcotics detective with childhood ties to a notoriously secretive and powerful New York family, in the television drama series Deception.
Good became one of Hollywood's most sought-after young actresses after completing a season-long arc on Showtime's acclaimed series Californication and a role in Think Like a Man, the feature film based on the best-selling book by Steve Harvey, co-starring Taraji P. Henson, Michael Ealy, Gabrielle Union and Chris Brown.
Good starred on the big screen in 2011 with Angela Bassett and Paula Patton in Jumping the Broom. She has also starred in multiple genres of films, ranging from horror with The Unborn opposite Odette Annable and Gary Oldman to comedy with The Love Guru, co-starring Mike Myers, Jessica Alba and Justin Timberlake.
Good rose to fame with Screen Gems' box-office hit Stomp the Yard, but was initially recognised for her acclaimed performance opposite Samuel L. Jackson in the eerie family drama Eve's Bayou, for which she received an NAACP Image Award and a Hollywood Reporter Award nomination.
Additional feature film credits include the critically praised cult film Brick, opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt; Screen Gems' features You Got Served and D.E.B.S; Waist Deep with Tyrese Gibson; Queen Latifah's The Cookout; DreamWorks Pictures' Biker Boyz; the romantic comedy Deliver Us from Eva; Friday with Ice Cube; the 1970s-set roller-skate dramedy Roll Bounce and the horror film Saw V, part of the multi-million dollar franchise.
In addition to acting in front of the camera, she also produces her own independent films. Miles from Home, an independent feature that Good executive produced and starred in opposite actor/director Ty Hodges, was received well on the independent film circuit.
It premiered at the Pan African Film & Arts Festival, the Washington D.C. Independent Film Festival and the Atlanta Film Festival, where it swept all of the awards - Best Feature, Best Actor and Actress (Meagan Good) and Best Director.
She also produced and starred in Video Girl, the Gia-esque film that depicts the sordid and misunderstood life of a music video superstar.
Born in Panorama City, California, Good began starring in commercials at age four and has completed dozens of national television commercials. She made her primetime television debut on the Friday night WB show Raising Dad.
Good's first major television role was as a series regular on the TV hit Cousin Skeeter. She also guest starred on various shows, including Moesha, The Steve Harvey Show, The Division, The Parent 'Hood, My Wife & Kids and All of Us, to name a few.
